San Pedro Region Social Justice Committee
Mindful of the duty to “Proclaim the Culture of Life”*, to work for Justice and the Common Good, and to build a society that uplifts the dignity of the human person, the vision of the San Pedro Regional Social Justice Committee is a dynamic network of Social Justice Ministries at all parishes in the Region. These Social Justice Ministries will have a clear moral vision based on Catholic Social Teaching, engage in caring for those in need, and advocate for socially responsible legislation and just policies for the Common Good of the entire human family, especially the marginalized and vulnerable.
The mission of the San Pedro Pastoral Region Social Justice Committee is to promote the development of active Social Justice Ministries in all parishes of the Region. This will include efforts to:
+ Provide educational resources and support to establish and develop parish SJ ministries
+ Raise the consciousness of social justice committee members of the Themes of Catholic Social
+ Provide avenues to advocate for social justice, through collaboration with civil and religious
organizations, to improve the common good locally and globally.
